Intersakha Athletic Meet 2011
You may be aware about Sree Narayana Guru (1854-1928) a saint philosopher and a humanist social reformer who had been instrumental in transforming the social fabric of Kerala leading to a perfect model for the rest of the nation.  To carry on the with the initiatives of Guru, Sree Narayana Dharma Paripalana Yogam (SNDP Yogam) was established in the year 1903 under his guidance.  The main aim of the SNDP Yogam is the cultural, spiritual, social and educational up-liftment of the people and to propagate and popularize the preaching of Guru - One Caste, One Religion, One God for Man - the Guru Dharma, which, with its emphasis on One Religion, is of immense relevance today.
As a part of the SNDP Yogam activities, Delhi SNDP Union every year organizes Inter-Sakha Sports Meet and Inter-Sakha Cultural Meet.  This year the task of hosting the Inter-Sakha Sports Meet on the 2nd October, 2011 - Gandhi Jayanti Day - has been entrusted with SNDP Yogam Kalkaji Sakha  No.4353.  Inter Sakha  Athletic Meet 2011  was conducted at Central Civil Services Cultural & Sports Board (CSSCSB) Stadium, Vinay Marg, Chanakya Puri, New Delhi on 2nd October 2011 from 8.30 AM onwards.  The Sports Meet was inaugurated by Shri Ranjit Narayan, IPS, Special Commissioner of Police (Crime) Delhi. More than 300 Athletes were participated in seventy events. The Meet ended with tug-of-war with sakhas, the last event of the meet.  This year Mayur Vihar Phase III Sakha  has won the Champion Trophy and Vikas Puri Sakha  at second place and Kalkaji Sakha at Third Place in winning Gold, Silver and Bronze medals. Next year,  Mayur Vihar Phase III Sakha will host the Annual Sports Meet 2012.
We express our sincere gratitude to the  Central Civil Services Cultural & Sports Board (CCSCSB)  which has  given the permission to conduct the Meet at Vinay Marg Sports Complex during 2006/2007/2008/2009 and 2011 with the help of Sports Authority of India (SAI). Because of the Commonwealth Games 2010 SNDP Union could not conduct the Annual Sports Meet during 2010.
